On Tuesday, June 8th Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer sampled the great eats and treats of Long Island City in The Chocolate Factory’s 5th Annual “Taste Of LIC” extravaganza. More than 50 local restaurants, bars and vendors filled Gantry State Park in Long Island City to showcase their best for sampling pleasure.

On Tuesday, June 8th Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and Speaker Christine Quinn gathered on the steps of City Hall with LGBT Veterans and community leaders in a citywide effort to fight for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT). Veterans shared their personal struggles with DADT and the Council Members offered their support to stand up for injustice and ignorance.
