Council Member Van Bramer, DSNY, and Woodside on the Move Announce 108 New Trash Bins

On Friday, June 16th, I joined the Department of Sanitation and Woodside on the Move in Woodside to unveil 108 new trash bins for all of District 26, including 32 in Woodside, 27 in Sunnyside, 34 in Long Island City, and 15 in Dutch Kills and Astoria.

After allocating nearly $60,000 for 108 new trash bins throughout Western Queens, I’m thrilled to join with DSNY and Woodside on the Move to unveil a beautiful new bin right here on Woodside Avenue. With more than a hundred new trash bins in Woodside, Sunnyside, Long Island City, Dutch Kills and Astoria, it will be easier than ever to throw trash in a bin rather than on the ground, keeping our streets clean for all.

“The businesses and residents along this corridor in Woodside deserve something special for having to live next to the noisy 7 train,” said Bob Piazza, President of Woodside on the Move. “Thank you to Jimmy for getting these new trash bins and for helping keep all of Woodside clean!”
