Van Bramer Honors Local Student-Run I.T. Squad
On Monday, December 13th Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer joined middle school students from Robert F. Wagner Secondary School for Arts and Technology in Long Island City to honor them for being the 2010 MOUSE Squad of the year.
Founded in 1997, MOUSE is an innovative youth development organization that prepares students to provide technical support in their schools, helping them to develop essential 21st century skills and empowering them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The MOUSE squad at Robert F. Wagner Junior SSAT has been running since 2000 and has participated in a series of workshops and worked tirelessly to develop their skills to deliver superior Information Technology service in their school.
Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer was pleased and proud to honor the Robert F. Wagner Junior SSAT MOUSE Squad for excellence with a Proclamation from the City of New York.
“Having such young bright minds gain hands-on technical experience is critical for the digital and technological era we live in,” said Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer. “MOUSE is a wonderful organization that helps provide a unique opportunity to use technology as a catalyst to motivate students to stay in school and cultivate the talent for the workforce of tomorrow.”
